Goals: Long Term
The ability to host channels with the host mode feature on twitch is amazing, but the idea is to actually break away from that and go a step further. You see, when in host mode the main hub channel does not appear as live, so it does not appear in the search results, which really doesn't help TehMonitorTV much. When a person first joins TMTV they go through a trial phase for about a month. In this phase we do in fact put them in the host mode feature, and showcase them within our community. Once officially added, members of TMTV can stream DIRECTLY on the channel! Basically, we use twitch's host mode for the trial stage, then move onto the direct streaming.
Through teamwork, we should be able to make TMTV larger than any of our individual channels, and make it worthwhile to stream there in a curated format. That is the long term idea, and you will be rewarded with a share of any subscriber money we’ve accumulate, as well as a share of the ad revenue. The more work you put in, the more profits you’ll keep. Of course, if your channel is larger than TMTV itself, there is no point of even streaming there. We aim to make it large though so that we can reward small streamers and add them to the community as well, so once again, think beyond yourself, and more about the community goals. You help your fellow streamers and friends, and in return they’ll help you too.
While long term goals are great, short term goals are more practical. Until TMTV can become self sufficient and self serving to all who are involved, we must cultivate and grow. As previously mentioned, teamwork is vital. We all need to water the seed that is TMTV. Through frequent mentions while streaming, to using social media, let your viewers and fans know what exactly IS TMTV and why they should even care. Without doing so, they will not understand and will not be so inclined to follow the channel. While you may already stream directly on TMTV is you wish, it would just be out of the goodness of your heart, and much appreciated. The most realistic outcome though is that it is currently too small to spread your viewers like that, so promoting it while you are live is your best option at this time. Do not overdo it though, as we do not want TMTV to be seen as spam. Instead, focus on exactly what you wish to say to your audience. Make it precise and to the point.
We do have ways to help spread the word. We have TMTV accounts on Twitter, and of course the discord channel.
The purpose of each are the following...
Twitter, to let people know that you are going live.
Discord, community discussion that has replaced the forums.
With those tools, we should be able to connect with all of the TMTV fans, and let them connect with each of us individually much faster because of it. Try for 1 tweet and post directly on TMTV. It only takes a second, and with a solid team like we have, we should easily be able to be engaged with viewers on a daily basis, seeing how we have more team members then there are actual days in a week!
Goals: Short Term
Build the team and grow. That simple.
