If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “birds of a feather flock together” then you’ll surely understand that being a part of community is about representation. How you conduct yourself is important and can often affect other members, so please keep this in mind before joining and while you are a member of our team!
Donations/Tips Asking for donations is more than acceptable, but how you go about asking can be a little tricky. If you push for donations too often or for the wrong reasons can turn people off. Viewers tend to like seeing goals for new equipment or living exspenses rather than more frivolous items such as a trip to Hawaii. Some of your closer viewers may not mind but a new viewer that does not know you might get turned off by the thought of paying for your vacation when he/she cannot afford one themselves. Because of this people may think less of you and in turn think less of the other members of TMTV and these are one of the many things we would like to avoid. So while we are not here to tell you what you can spend your donations on, we only ask you to keep that trip to Hawaii on the downlow! Some extra Do's and Don'ts below.
The Do's
Put a "Tip Jar" on your page.
Keep it short and simple.
Be appreciative of any and all tips (NOT DONATIONS, call them TIPS) no matter how small.
The Don'ts
Beg for tips.
Trade for tips. Example - "I'll mod you if you donate" or "I'll prank call your friend for a $20 donation"
Conflict If a problem ever arises between you and another member of TMTV, please keep it private between the two, (or more) of you. If you cannot work out the issue in a civil manner please bring it to the attention Jordan "Link584" and I will work with you to solve whatever issue has arisen as quickly and efficiently as possible. All issues between persons should remain private at all times even after the issue has been resolved. If anyone cannot conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, action will be taken against such persons. Some more general Do's and Don'ts are listed below.
The Do's
Support one another as much as you can. (This can mean hosting, joining streams, raiding, tweeting, shout-outs, etc. Anything you think that will support your fellow members)
Be respectful of another members boundaries in or out of their channel. (Yes their rules apply to you)
Be understanding of advice another member might give.
Be understanding of advice another member might not want to take.
If you're unsure, ask!
The Don'ts
Self promote in someone else's channel, member or not. The point of TMTV is to help promote EACH OTHER not yourself.
Be disrespectful to another members viewers/mods.
Don't ask for mod status in a members channel. (Just because you're both in TMTV doesn't mean its deserved)
Don't post any spoilers of any kind! Assume everyone hasn't played or seen anything. If they want hints, they'll ask!
No sub for sub. Period.
Don't spam. Period.
TMTV Channel The TMTV channel is all about the community. No matter what happens there are certain rules that must be followed while streaming to that channel. There are no exceptions to this rule at any time for any reason. Not following through could result in removal from the group.
The Do's
Be more professional than you'd normally be on your own channel.
Properly title the stream as specified in the handbook.
Keep language to a minimum.
Once you're finished any followers you have should be directed to any other member that's live and raid them!
Generally just follow twitch's rules.
The Don'ts
No copyrighted music of any kind. This could jeopardize the TMTV channel and we are not willing to risk that.
No drunk streams. (Light drinking is acceptable)
If you wouldn't do it on your personal channel Don't do it here!
And lastly as you are all aware, common courtesy and respect can go a long way. Without every one of you, TMTV wouldn’t exist. While we may only have had the idea, YOU are what makes it possible!
